What is Better Baker Academy?

Better Baker Academy is an online training platform designed specifically for bakery employees, managers, and owners. Our courses provide foundational knowledge to help bakeries improve consistency, efficiency, safety, and business culture.

All courses are delivered through short, easy-to-follow video modules. Employees can complete training at their own pace, on any device with an internet connection.

Your subscription is based on the number of active users (employees) on your account. You’ll want to have enough user seats for all team members who would be doing the training at any given time in the month. You can change membership levels at any time—just contact us!

Yes, you are welcome to cancel at any time and renew at a later date. You can also upgrade your plan selection as your business grows. Contact us if you need assistance or need to change your plan!

Plans are paid monthly via credit card or PayPal. You can upgrade or cancel your membership at any time. We have discounts for organizations with multiple locations. Contact us if you have questions or need assistance!

Course lengths vary! Course 101: Bakery Basics takes approximately 5 hours, and Course 201: Customer Service & Business Skills takes approximately 3 hours to complete.

Yes, users can pause or stop and return to the course where they left off; we suggest logging out in the top right navigation bar to ensure progress is saved between learning sessions.

Better Baker Academy sends you automated emails whenever an employee completes a course. You’ll also receive automated emails you if an employee has not completed a course within 1, 2, or 3 weeks of receiving access to the course.

You also view track your employees’ progress at any time on your Team Dashboard. This shows the percentage they have completed as well as their individual quiz scores.

You (the team admin) and the user will both receive an email confirmation upon completion of any course. Once a user has passed the last module within a course, at the bottom of that last module, there is a link to view and download their certificate of completion. They should check with a supervisor for further instructions (e.g., if they need to download their certificate and send it to a supervisor via email, print it, or save it onto a shared drive, etc.).

Absolutely. Once an employee completes a course and passes the required quizzes, they can view, save, or print a downloadable certificate. Managers are also notified via email when any course is completed by a team member.

Yes! Users can complete courses on a mobile device. They can rotate their phone and choose to maximize the video to view it full-screen on a mobile device. They can also view our courses on a tablet or computer.

Yes, you can add an employee to your team on your Team Dashboard and then choose to “Assign as Team Leader.” This will allow them to access the Team Dashboard, view employees’ progress, and add/remove employees from the team. Team leaders cannot cancel or change your membership account.

No! All of the quizzes are online and graded for you, so there’s no printing quizzes or grading quizzes. (The only thing you may wish to print out would be your employees’ course completion certificates for your records—or simply save the PDF instead of printing.)

Yes! Please reach out to Better Baker Academy for pricing and all of our customized content options. We can help create a learning experience to best fit your team as well as your business’s needs, ranging from a single custom content page to a full custom course.

No. Users do not retain their certifications from Better Baker Academy. The employer has provided the user with the training and if the user leaves, their next employer would need to contact us to retrieve their certificates and/or provide them with access to our training platform to continue working on the courses. If their new employer doesn’t use Better Baker Academy but would like a one-week free trial, please contact us.

Yes! We offer free virtual demos where one of our team members walks you through the platform, dashboard, courses, and how to use Better Baker Academy to standardize training in your bakery.

Yes! We are constantly working to expand our course offerings, and we will notify all members as new courses and products are released.

Better Baker Academy will send out an email whenever content is updated to all users who have already completed the course where the updated content appears so that you can go back and view the updated material.

Better Baker Academy is an online academy, so there is no in-person training included in our monthly membership program.
